In the 5th minute of the match Mintauts Stromanis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jūlijs Lovnieks skillfully saved the ball. Leopolds Pluksnis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FK Petraici's zone, Leopolds Pluksnis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jūlijs Lovnieks came out of the goal and Leopolds Pluksnis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Arvīds Uzvans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Sporting Riga's Ēriks Kiršblats got control of the ball when Arvīds Uzvans tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of FK Petraici booed when Sporting Riga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopolds Pluksnis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arvīds Miksis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sporting Riga's Ēvalds Sovkovs quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Laimonis Siskovics, made in the 20th minute of the game. Sporting Riga's attentive Gundars Slezis managed to snatch the ball when Laimonis Siskovics made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. In the 25th match minute, FK Petraici was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kristiāns Rabkēvičs to maneuver through the defense. Varis Lavenbahs kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 32nd minute, Vitauts Gipters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 35th minute of the match Mintauts Stromanis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jūlijs Lovnieks skillfully saved the ball. Santis Dzelzgalvis might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jūlijs Lovnieks. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Santis Dzelzgalvis ran back to his position shaking his head. Jūlijs Lovnieks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leopolds Pluksnis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

The wind increased when Leopolds Pluksnis made the kick off in the second half. A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Laimonis Siskovics with Arvīds Uzvans as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Arvīds Miksis might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ēriks Kiršblats. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arvīds Miksis ran back to his position shaking his head. Ēriks Kiršblats made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvīds Uzvans in the 60th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, FK Petraici's goal looked a bit too open when Ēvalds Sovkovs came free, but Jūlijs Lovnieks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FK Petraici's zone, Leopolds Pluksnis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jūlijs Lovnieks came out of the goal and Leopolds Pluksnis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leopolds Pluksnis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Jūlijs Lovnieks made a huge save. Leopolds Pluksnis kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Santis Dzelzgalvis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Leopolds Pluksnis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A sloppy throw-in by Ģirts Engers in the 84th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sporting Riga's Ēvalds Sovkovs. After 86 minutes, Leopolds Pluksnis made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. FK Petraici's Jūlijs Lovnieks tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Toms Solcs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sporting Riga's supporters rose to their feet, but Toms Solcs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jūlijs Lovnieks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the final whistle sounded Sporting Riga left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FK Petraici.
