The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 36th minute Ēriks Enkurnieks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miķelis Strepmanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristaps Polārists showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harijs Spiridovics, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the match, Harijs Spiridovics had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristaps Polārists. Vecozoli's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harijs Spiridovics was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 48th minute, Bērtulis Tāmulis fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Miķelis Strepmanis, passed just outside the right post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Kazimirs Spandegs to strike the kick off in the second half. Miķelis Strepmanis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kazimirs Spandegs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 59 played minutes, Vecozoli's Sebastians Kuzmanis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miķelis Strepmanis came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vecozoli reached it. Miķelis Strepmanis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kazimirs Spandegs went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 75 played minutes FC Kurbads got a freekick which was hit by Zigurds Laurinovics. A hard shot 81 in the game by Harijs Spiridovics from a close distance when the talented Kristaps Polārists managed to make a qualified save. Vecozoli's players were relieved. 82 minutes into the game, Ēriks Enkurnieks was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vecozoli's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kurbads the free kick. In the 82nd minute, Ēriks Enkurnieks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ilgvars Nilenders in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kristaps Polārists prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kristaps Polārists took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilgvars Nilenders, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th match minute, Vecozoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandis Biedrs to maneuver through the defense. In the 91st minute, Ilgvars Nilenders fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Miķelis Strepmanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kazimirs Spandegs in the 96th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Kurbads walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
