The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 31 minutes, Arnolds Bokelis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK Petraici and the FC Kurbads players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 33rdth minute of the game Ilgvars Nilenders who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Petraici's Jūlijs Lovnieks was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 34 minutes of play, FC Kurbads's Ilgvars Nilenders made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jūlijs Lovnieks was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Arnolds Bokelis was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 47 minutes had been played. In the 47th minute, Arnolds Bokelis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Harijs Spiridovics fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jūlijs Lovnieks having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Otomārs Šūpotājs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 69th minute Arvīds Uzvans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miķelis Strepmanis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FK Petraici's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Kurbads the free kick. In the 83rd minute, Intars Bižāns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raivis Pliss kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. After having played for 89 minutes, Valērijs Klapiņš managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Kurbads's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valērijs Klapiņš was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vladislavs Mežezers hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FK Petraici! The goalkeeper, Jūlijs Lovnieks, was totally fooled by FC Kurbads's Valērijs Klapiņš, who 96 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side.
