With his leg Ēriks Galvāns managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when FHS Gramzda's Gundars Vēbers fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Purnava's Ēriks Galvāns proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Purnava from getting a goal against them. Ēriks Galvāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristaps Namnieks in the 22nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Helmuts Ziedkalns during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Helmuts Ziedkalns kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Madars Litaunieks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dins Skapars struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Verners Bārtulis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Purnava. Purnava's Dins Skapars got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dins Skapars sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kristaps Namnieks received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ēriks Galvāns came out and tried to block the shot, but Kristaps Namnieks slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 38th minute. After having played for 45 minutes, Kristaps Namnieks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FHS Gramzda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kristaps Namnieks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dins Skapars made the kick off in the second half. Helmuts Ziedkalns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ēriks Galvāns having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Madars Litaunieks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Purnava's supporters rose to their feet, but Madars Litaunieks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Verners Bārtulis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FHS Gramzda's Verners Bārtulis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save FHS Gramzda from getting a goal against them. In the 57th minute Purnava were awarded a corner. Imants Bergmans went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Imants Bergmans got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Verners Bārtulis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 59 minutes into the match, FHS Gramzda's Kristaps Namnieks sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ēriks Galvāns narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 65th minute Dins Skapars shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verners Bārtulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Dins Skapars's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Verners Bārtulis was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Dins Skapars fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Verners Bārtulis having to interfere. Madars Litaunieks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the FHS Gramzda defense, Dins Skapars kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Verners Bārtulis. The FHS Gramzda fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Verners Bārtulis should have stopped the shot. When Helmuts Ziedkalns came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FHS Gramzda fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Helmuts Ziedkalns couldn't finish the play. Ēriks Galvāns made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristaps Namnieks in the 89th minute of play. Ēriks Galvāns took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kristaps Namnieks, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, FHS Gramzda's Kristaps Namnieks sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ēriks Galvāns narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
