Spectators: 8058 (Terracing: 6045, Seating: 1853, VIP seats: 160) FK Cunami's Uģis Vēzēns started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With his leg Ilgmārs Strautiņš managed to avoid a goal in the 3rdth minute, when FK Cunami's Uldis Begens fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, FK Cunami's Modris Teterovskis got a free kick in the 3rd minute. Ilgmārs Strautiņš stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Uģis Vēzēns's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. In the 7th match minute, FK Cunami was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uldis Begens to maneuver through the defense. After 10 minutes, Uģis Hidekels mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK Cunami and the FK Zhidina players grew even worse after the yellow card. Uģis Hidekels kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Modris Teterovskis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 14th minute Leons Bružiks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimirs Denderis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uldis Begens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th match minute, FK Zhidina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miks Kozbergers to maneuver through the defense. Miks Kozbergers kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After 24 minutes, Gusts Pilsonis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK Cunami and the FK Zhidina players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 26th minute Gatis Melderis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vladimirs Denderis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uģis Vēzēns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ilgmārs Strautiņš having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Modris Teterovskis during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 34 played minutes FK Cunami got a freekick which was hit by Modris Teterovskis. Gatis Melderis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vladimirs Denderis having to interfere. Gatis Melderis took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vladimirs Denderis. Vladimirs Denderis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 45 played minutes FK Zhidina got a freekick which was hit by Miks Kozbergers. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gatis Melderis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the match, FK Cunami's goalkeeper Vladimirs Denderis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gatis Melderis. The audience thought a goal was coming when Leons Bružiks got free with Vladimirs Denderis in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gatis Melderis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FK Cunami's Vladimirs Denderis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save FK Cunami from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miks Kozbergers during the 61st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Vladimirs Denderis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elvis Vāveris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leons Bružiks blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vladimirs Denderis having to make a save. When Gatis Melderis came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the FK Zhidina fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gatis Melderis couldn't finish the play. Leons Bružiks received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Vladimirs Denderis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind FK Cunami's goalkeeper Vladimirs Denderis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FK Cunami's zone, Leons Bružiks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vladimirs Denderis came out of the goal and Leons Bružiks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 88th minute Uldis Begens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilgmārs Strautiņš saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leons Bružiks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, FK Cunami's Vladimirs Denderis got control of the ball when Leons Bružiks tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Gatis Melderis managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK Zhidina's supporters rose to their feet, but Gatis Melderis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimirs Denderis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leons Bružiks struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Vladimirs Denderis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FK Zhidina.
