The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Guntars Čiriks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. Pruli's Guntars Čiriks got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guntars Čiriks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valfrīds Vagars having to interfere. After 14 played minutes FC AVK got a freekick which was hit by Mintauts Vaļums. Ģirts Abulnieks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valfrīds Vagars having to interfere. The supporters of FC AVK booed when Pruli was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitauts Zeimots didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Pruli's goal looked a bit too open when Mintauts Vaļums came free, but Intars Baltābols reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC AVK's Valfrīds Vagars played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ģirts Abulnieks in the 31st minute of play. When Pruli's Ģirts Abulnieks in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC AVK's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in FC AVK's zone, Guntars Čiriks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valfrīds Vagars came out of the goal and Guntars Čiriks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC AVK's Valfrīds Vagars played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitauts Zeimots in the 42nd minute of play. Ģirts Abulnieks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valfrīds Vagars having to interfere. Guntars Čiriks sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mintauts Vaļums made a kick off. If Ģirts Abulnieks had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. After 62 played minutes FC AVK got a freekick which was hit by Donats Vasivcevs. After a defensive mix-up in FC AVK's zone, Guntars Čiriks stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valfrīds Vagars came out of the goal and Guntars Čiriks tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Intars Baltābols took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donats Vasivcevs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ģirts Abulnieks succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 78th playminute. Pruli's Guntars Čiriks got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Aivils Jurensons hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Pruli's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
