When Frīdis Grundāns fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PFK Vecviekskele's protests and gave Frīdis Grundāns a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes PFK Vecviekskele got a freekick which was hit by Frīdis Grundāns. In the 9th minute, Viestards Dzervens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 10 minutes into the match, PFK Vecviekskele's Ziedonis Brizs broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. 11 minutes into the match, Polkas's goalkeeper Gints Levans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ģederts Dārznieks. In the 13th minute, PFK Vecviekskele's Frīdis Grundāns dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edijs Mežols in the 18th minute of play forced PFK Vecviekskele's goalkeeper Maigurs Simsons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ģederts Dārznieks in the 22nd minute of play forced Polkas's goalkeeper Gints Levans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gints Levans made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ģederts Dārznieks in the 31st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Edijs Mežols managed to get in a good position for a shot. Polkas's supporters rose to their feet, but Edijs Mežols was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Maigurs Simsons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Druvis Botāns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 45th minute, Druvis Botāns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The wind increased when Druvis Botāns made the kick off in the second half. When Viesturs Vidavs came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Polkas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Viesturs Vidavs couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Polkas booed when PFK Vecviekskele was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frīdis Grundāns didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rainers Snikis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 54th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Maigurs Simsons. PFK Vecviekskele's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Viestards Dzervens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maigurs Simsons having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Druvis Botāns dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maigurs Simsons, 1-2. When Frīdis Grundāns was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, PFK Vecviekskele's Frīdis Grundāns got a free kick in the 62nd minute. If Druvis Botāns had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Filips Dilba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edijs Mežols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maigurs Simsons having to interfere. The PFK Vecviekskele fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Polkas were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
