Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Romário Fenomeno in the 5th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kostas Birbas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kostas Birbas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Fenomeno in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Zenon Czerniak got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Asie Zābaki's Zenon Czerniak got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24thth minute of the game Zenon Czerniak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Melluži's Kostas Birbas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After having played for 29 minutes, Romário Fenomeno managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Asie Zābaki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Fenomeno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Dubardo Coira managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Melluži's supporters rose to their feet, but Dubardo Coira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Magnuss Zebins breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lauris Rebenis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Magnuss Zebins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th match minute, Asie Zābaki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Staņislavs Kāznieks to maneuver through the defense. Kostas Birbas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zenon Czerniak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 42 played minutes FC Melluži got a freekick which was hit by Raits Štolcs. Valgudis Dārzs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Magnuss Zebins tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 48th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Melluži's goalkeeper Kostas Birbas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Romário Fenomeno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zenon Czerniak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kostas Birbas having to interfere. Dubardo Coira struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Magnuss Zebins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Melluži. FC Melluži's Kostas Birbas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save FC Melluži from getting a goal against them. Kostas Birbas made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Zenon Czerniak sent off a good shot on target. Kostas Birbas was a little too slow when Zenon Czerniak got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 0-1. Kostas Birbas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Romário Fenomeno's shot from short distance in the 65th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Asie Zābaki's Romário Fenomeno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kostas Birbas. That made the score 0-2 after 66 minutes of play. Sandris Mieramika charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sandris Mieramika the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Sandris Mieramika hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Zenon Czerniak could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Kostas Birbas made a huge save. Kostas Birbas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Fenomeno, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After a rather tough play, FC Melluži's Zandis Dziesma got a free kick in the 79th minute. 80 minutes into the match, Asie Zābaki's Sergey Golovchenko sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kostas Birbas narrowly saved just below the crossbar. FC Melluži's Kostas Birbas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Fenomeno in the 81st minute of play. When Lauris Rebenis fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Melluži's protests and gave Lauris Rebenis a yellow card for diving instead. Asie Zābaki's Ģederts Deglis was substituted for Sergey Golovchenko. After 82 played minutes FC Melluži got a freekick which was hit by Lauris Rebenis. Zenon Czerniak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the game, Oļģerts Ezermala cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Magnuss Zebins was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The FC Melluži supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Asie Zābaki's performance. The match ended with a win for Asie Zābaki.
