In the 36th minute Eugenijus Gegeckas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agatas Misiulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Deividas Staponkus sped through FC Sodelyay's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Agatas Misiulis. After 40 played minutes Balzam Giedymina got a freekick which was hit by Algimantas Čepulis. Nerūnas Buivys hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Danas Žvigaitis, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Balzam Giedymina's Vydas Kalinauskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jogaila Jovaiša in the 44th minute of play. The FC Sodelyay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. Eugenijus Gegeckas came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Agatas Misiulis could save by the left post. Vydas Kalinauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jogaila Jovaiša, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Deividas Staponkus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Deividas Staponkus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, FC Sodelyay's Agatas Misiulis got control of the ball when Eugenijus Gegeckas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eugenijus Gegeckas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agatas Misiulis having to interfere. Balzam Giedymina's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
