Spectators: 7751 (Terracing: 5815, Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Saulius Mačionis started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, Arvydas Vaidžiulis cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Nerūnas Gruzdas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Žydrūnas Vaičiulis during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 5th match minute, Gauciukas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Žydrūnas Vaičiulis to maneuver through the defense. Žydrūnas Vaičiuliss short, quick shot in the 12thth minute got Nerūnas Gruzdas to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Osvaldas Tumėnas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daugirdas Pyragis, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Stasys Kilčiauskas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arvydas Vaidžiulis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nerūnas Gruzdas having to interfere. Daugirdas Pyragis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Osvaldas Tumėnas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Daugirdas Pyragis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arvydas Vaidžiulis got free with Nerūnas Gruzdas in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Arvydas Vaidžiulis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daugirdas Pyragis to make the kick off. Nerūnas Gruzdas came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by Gauciukas's Saulius Mačionis. But to his dismay, Saulius Mačionis quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Vytautas Adomėnas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldas Tumėnas having to interfere. In the 60th match minute, Gauciukas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jokūbas Norgėla to maneuver through the defense. Stasys Kilčiauskas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Osvaldas Tumėnas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daugirdas Pyragis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Virusai's Stasys Kilčiauskas got a free kick in the 74th minute. Gauciukas's Osvaldas Tumėnas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Gauciukas from getting a goal against them. Nerūnas Gruzdas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arvydas Vaidžiulis in the 81st minute of play. If Saulius Mačionis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nerūnas Gruzdas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arvydas Vaidžiulis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th match minute, FC Virusai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Algirdas Kaminskas to maneuver through the defense. Saulius Mačionis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nerūnas Gruzdas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. When Algirdas Kaminskas was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 97 minutes had been played. Algirdas Kaminskas hit a great freekick 98 minutes into the match. Emilis Kardašius took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 99th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nerūnas Gruzdas. FC Virusai's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gauciukas's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
