In the 42nd minute Ignas Petkauskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juozas Steponaitis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FK KAUNO JĖGERIAI's Juozas Steponaitis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignas Petkauskas in the 44th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Rokas Augys was slow to take the kick. During this time FBK Smarliuniai's players had a chance to rest. If Klemensas Trinkūnas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. FBK Smarliuniai's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FK KAUNO JĖGERIAI had won, even though FBK Smarliuniai had held more of the ball.
