The audience thought a goal was coming when Adolfas Matiušaitis got free with Ligitas Anužis in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Erlandas Jatkauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ričardas Tarabilda in the 43rd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in FK siauliai's zone, Vincentas Puidokas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ligitas Anužis came out of the goal and Vincentas Puidokas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vincentas Puidokas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in FK siauliai's zone, Vincentas Puidokas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ligitas Anužis came out of the goal and Vincentas Puidokas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vincentas Puidokas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ligitas Anužis having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Zalgiris Vilnius's goal looked a bit too open when Robertas Daunoravičius came free, but Erlandas Jatkauskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as FK siauliai's Robertas Daunoravičius slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erlandas Jatkauskas. That made the score 2-2 after 86 minutes of play. Vincentas Puidokas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ligitas Anužis having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincentas Puidokas in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ligitas Anužis saved FK siauliai from getting behind. After 95 minutes, Stanislovas Bekintis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FK siauliai and the Zalgiris Vilnius players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 95 played minutes FK siauliai got a freekick which was hit by Stanislovas Bekintis. Karolis Danauskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ligitas Anužis having to interfere.
