Vydas Tarailis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rūtenis Gruzdas having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vydas Tarailis in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rūtenis Gruzdas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rūtenis Gruzdas came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by Liepalotai's Darijus Tamulevičius. But to his dismay, Darijus Tamulevičius quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vydas Tarailis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rūtenis Gruzdas having to interfere. Liudas Jukna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Marius Bandza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Marijonas Sargūnas came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the FK Bucas-Akademija fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marijonas Sargūnas couldn't finish the play. In the 25th minute Vydas Tarailis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rūtenis Gruzdas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, FK Bucas-Akademija's goal looked a bit too open when Darijus Tamulevičius came free, but Rūtenis Gruzdas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dangiras Arelis charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dangiras Arelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 34th minute, Airidas Mikutavičius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Darijus Tamulevičius stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vakaris Dringelis charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vakaris Dringelis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 54 played minutes FK Bucas-Akademija got a freekick which was hit by Vakaris Dringelis. Liepalotai's Darijus Tamulevičius got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marius Bandza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Liudas Jukna in the 80th minute of play. Vydas Tarailis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Rūtenis Gruzdas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darijus Tamulevičius in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rūtenis Gruzdas saved FK Bucas-Akademija from getting behind. Liepalotai's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
