Rimvydas Mečionis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vismantas Andriekus in the 13th minute of the match. Laimonas Stankunas in the 14thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Rimvydas Mečionis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Regimantas Liubinskas kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. If Rūtenis Černiauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 22 minutes, Rūtenis Černiauskas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FBK Šalča's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rūtenis Černiauskas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rūtenis Černiauskas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gintautas Martinkus having to make a save. Vismantas Andriekus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 36 minutes into the match, Real Betis Balompié's Laimonas Stankunas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rimvydas Mečionis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 37 played minutes FBK Šalča got a freekick which was hit by Justinas Martusevičius. In the 42nd minute, Žydrūnas Gasparaitis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vismantas Andriekus was the one to do the kick off. Regimantas Liubinskas got his second yellow card in the match during the 53rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After having played for 55 minutes, Laimonas Stankunas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After a defensive mix-up in FBK Šalča's zone, Laimonas Stankunas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rimvydas Mečionis came out of the goal and Laimonas Stankunas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rimvydas Mečionis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laimonas Stankunas, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Žydrūnas Gasparaitis charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Žydrūnas Gasparaitis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, FBK Šalča was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Žydrūnas Gasparaitis to maneuver through the defense. FBK Šalča's Rimvydas Mečionis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vismantas Andriekus in the 72nd minute of play. If Rūtenis Černiauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 minutes of play, Real Betis Balompié's Vismantas Andriekus made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rimvydas Mečionis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vismantas Andriekus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rimvydas Mečionis having to interfere. After 86 played minutes FBK Šalča got a freekick which was hit by Žydrūnas Gasparaitis. Vismantas Andriekus took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rimvydas Mečionis. Rimvydas Mečionis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 90th minute, Daugirdas Jatulevičius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rupertas Žalnerauskas hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Rimvydas Mečionis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Laimonas Stankunas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the FBK Šalča players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Real Betis Balompié.
