Vytenis Erčius helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Anzhi booed when Geniukai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liudvikas Glodenis in the 22nd minute of play forced Geniukai's goalkeeper Raimundas Kairys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eitautas Gimžauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evaldas Jokubaitis in the 23rd minute of the match. 27 minutes into the game, Germanas Armoška was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geniukai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Anzhi the free kick. A collision led to Geniukai getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Germanas Armoška hit a great ball. After 33 minutes of play, FC Anzhi's Andrius Lemežis made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raimundas Kairys was left in no man's land by his defense there! Augustas Maksimavičius took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Raimundas Kairys. Raimundas Kairys dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Augustas Maksimavičius struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Raimundas Kairys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Anzhi. If Liudvikas Glodenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Germanas Armoška was shown his second yellow card after 44 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Eitautas Gimžauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jotautas Rinkevičius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Anzhi's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
