An unexpectedly hard shot by Merūnas Arlauskas in the 8th minute of play forced Geniukai's goalkeeper Raimundas Kairys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raimundas Kairys didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Merūnas Arlauskas went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Rapolas Daunys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundas Kairys having to interfere. In the 18th minute Merūnas Arlauskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundas Kairys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundas Kairys didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Airūnas Mažvila went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Geniukai's Raimundas Kairys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Merūnas Arlauskas in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Geniukai got a freekick which was hit by Germanas Mikutavičius. Raimundas Kairys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merūnas Arlauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the game, Herkus Bračas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Raimundas Kairys was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 33rd match minute, FK Vilnius was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herkus Bračas to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Geniukai defense, Merūnas Arlauskas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundas Kairys. The Geniukai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundas Kairys should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zenonas Jovaiša was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zenonas Jovaiša got free with Raimundas Kairys in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Airūnas Mažvila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Raimundas Kairys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zenonas Jovaiša got free with Raimundas Kairys in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zenonas Jovaiša could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Raimundas Kairys made a huge save. Raimundas Kairys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhuang Yu Qiang in the 66th minute of play. Raimundas Kairys made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Zenonas Jovaiša sent off a good shot on target. 72 minutes into the match, Geniukai's goal looked a bit too open when Merūnas Arlauskas came free, but Raimundas Kairys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundas Kairys made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Zenonas Jovaiša sent off a good shot on target. If Zenonas Jovaiša had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. Geniukai's Raimundas Kairys proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Geniukai from getting a goal against them. Merūnas Arlauskas was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. FK Vilnius's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Merūnas Arlauskas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raimundas Kairys came out and tried to block the shot, but Merūnas Arlauskas slotted it home off the left post making it 0-6 in the 84th minute. Raimundas Kairys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Merūnas Arlauskas, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. After some careless play in the Geniukai defense, Airūnas Mažvila kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raimundas Kairys. The Geniukai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundas Kairys should have stopped the shot. When Girkantas Jurevičius fell near the penalty area in the 98th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geniukai's protests and gave Girkantas Jurevičius a yellow card for diving instead. After 98 played minutes Geniukai got a freekick which was hit by Girkantas Jurevičius. FK Vilnius's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
