The Geniukai fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raimundas Kairys should have stopped the shot. Geniukai's Raimundas Kairys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdas Judeikis in the 38th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Irmantas Jarošas made the kick off in the second half. Rapolas Bilevičius helped the player get up and apologised. Rapolas Bilevičius hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute Irmantas Jarošas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundas Kairys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 78 minutes, Evaldas Jokubaitis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geniukai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Evaldas Jokubaitis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Paleiciai getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Jogaila Makauskas hit a great ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Paleiciai eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
