Through an outstanding action, after 3 minutes, Rūtenis Genčiauskas successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Medeyki's Rokas Bačkys played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marius Stankaitis in the 5th minute of play. HC GRIFAS's Zigmas Enčius got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Medeyki booed when HC GRIFAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vincentas Barsys didn't get a good kick on the ball. Evaldas Dalinkevičius's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Rūtenis Genčiauskas skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Henrikas Vizbaras hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute Zigmas Enčius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rokas Bačkys saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Faustas Nekrašas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rūtenis Genčiauskas having to interfere. Rūtenis Genčiauskas made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Evaldas Dalinkevičius sent off a good shot on target. Marius Stankaitis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marius Stankaitis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Evaldas Dalinkevičius struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Rūtenis Genčiauskas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Medeyki. If Faustas Nekrašas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, HC GRIFAS's goalkeeper Rūtenis Genčiauskas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evaldas Dalinkevičius. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustas Nekrašas in the 43rd minute of play forced HC GRIFAS's goalkeeper Rūtenis Genčiauskas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 46 minutes, Marius Stankaitis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. HC GRIFAS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marius Stankaitis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Zigmas Enčius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Medeyki players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. HC GRIFAS were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marius Stankaitis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Evaldas Dalinkevičius's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rūtenis Genčiauskas was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Rokas Bačkys made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Zigmas Enčius sent off a good shot on target. After 66 played minutes Medeyki got a freekick which was hit by Adomas Dulevičius. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Faustas Nekrašas in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rūtenis Genčiauskas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Evaldas Dalinkevičius blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rūtenis Genčiauskas having to make a save.
