The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a rather tough play, Dapkiskiai's Renatas Rožėnas got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 45 minutes into the match, Dapkiskiai's goalkeeper Rimvydas Jakaitis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augustas Aleksiūnas. Vincentas Andziulis kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Dziungles's Modestas Vaitiekaitis tried to score from far away in the 48th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.

If Valdemaras Bekintis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edmundas Mažutis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raimundas Damaševicius having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Vidmantas Zaikauskas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundas Mažutis in the 66th minute of play forced Dziungles's goalkeeper Raimundas Damaševicius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augustas Aleksiūnas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Raimundas Damaševicius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundas Mažutis in the 72nd minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Dapkiskiai's Raimundas Damaševicius threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Edmundas Mažutis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 96 played minutes Dziungles got a freekick which was hit by Eligijus Andrijauskas. If Valdemaras Bekintis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dapkiskiai's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
