In the 8th match minute, Cheetah AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinaras Zaveckas to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute Hubertas Cieška shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dalius Gimbutas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mantas Alminas charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mantas Alminas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tautvydas Dargis to strike the kick off in the second half. Tautvydas Dargis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Redas Rudys having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Hubertas Cieška took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Dalius Gimbutas to make any attempt to save it. Vėjas Žemaitis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Dalius Gimbutas made a huge save. 67 minutes into the game, Cornell University's Tautvydas Dargis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Redas Rudys made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After 70 minutes, Audrius Voveris mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cheetah AFC and the Cornell University players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Audrius Voveris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vėjas Žemaitis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Cornell University's Dalius Gimbutas got control of the ball when Vėjas Žemaitis tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Cheetah AFC booed when Cornell University was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benediktas Drigotas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cheetah AFC's Vėjas Žemaitis got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cheetah AFC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
