The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Juras Katkus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Feliksas Mintauskas having to interfere. A collision led to Olimpo getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Albinas Abudauskas hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Danas Normantas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Feliksas Mintauskas was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Rinkava's Zigmantas Martusevičius got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Danas Normantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th minute, Danas Normantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juras Katkus struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Feliksas Mintauskas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rinkava. If Danas Normantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Feliksas Mintauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Danas Normantas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 34 minutes into the match, Olimpo's goal looked a bit too open when Juras Katkus came free, but Feliksas Mintauskas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 47 played minutes Olimpo got a freekick which was hit by Sigitas Vitkauskas. The Olimpo players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Rinkava were winning 0-1.

The wind increased when Danas Normantas made the kick off in the second half. Danas Normantas in the 63rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. The coaching staff of Rinkava protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Saulius Povilaitis had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. When Juras Katkus came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Rinkava fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juras Katkus couldn't finish the play. Rinkava were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
