The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspur's Jeronimas Adomėnas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Margiris Vizbaras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The score was now 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspur's goal looked a bit too open when Hubertas Narutavičius came free, but Rolandas Varnas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tottenham Hotspur's Rolandas Varnas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tautvydas Utkevičius in the 15th minute of play. Rolandas Varnas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hubertas Narutavičius's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Tautvydas Utkevičius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolandas Varnas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. In the 25th minute Tautvydas Utkevičius shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolandas Varnas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Klemensas Butminas hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Margiris Vizbaras showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimas Adomėnas, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Jeronimas Adomėnas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Margiris Vizbaras made a huge save. In the 39th minute Tottenham Hotspur were awarded a corner. Giedrius Jakniūnas went to the cornerflag to take it. Einaras Aukščionis tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Margiris Vizbaras. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 39th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tautvydas Utkevičius in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rolandas Varnas saved Tottenham Hotspur from getting behind.

The wind increased when Žygimantas Gureckas made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute, Ignas Kairys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FK riga's Margiris Vizbaras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jeronimas Adomėnas in the 53rd minute of play. Žygimantas Gureckas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Margiris Vizbaras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeronimas Adomėnas in the 58th minute of play forced FK riga's goalkeeper Margiris Vizbaras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hubertas Narutavičius came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the FK riga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hubertas Narutavičius couldn't finish the play. In the 66th minute, Zenonas Butvilas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Tautvydas Utkevičius managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK riga's supporters rose to their feet, but Tautvydas Utkevičius was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rolandas Varnas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hubertas Narutavičius received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Rolandas Varnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 77th minute, Aloyzas Baltuška hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, FK riga's Kastytis Daulys tried to score from far away in the 78th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute, Tottenham Hotspur's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hubertas Narutavičius fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 89 minutes into the match, Tottenham Hotspur's Žygimantas Gureckas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Margiris Vizbaras narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jeronimas Adomėnas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Margiris Vizbaras having to make a save. Jeronimas Adomėnas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tottenham Hotspur's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
