Vilkavishkis's players were relieved. Vaivoriai's Vygandas Čižas got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mantas Bilaitis was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 8 minutes into the match. A collision led to Vilkavishkis getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Albertas Andriulis hit a great ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Jokūbas Butnorius managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vaivoriai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jokūbas Butnorius was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Jokūbas Butnorius was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vaivoriai's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vilkavishkis the free kick. A collision led to Vaivoriai getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Jokūbas Butnorius hit a great ball. Ovidijus Žiogas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gintas Kupcinskas in the 27th minute of the match. Vytis Kucys stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Remigijus Palšis's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Vilkavishkis's Vytis Kucys got control of the ball when Stasys Bielskis tried to sneak it across the goal line. Stasys Bielskis had several of the Vilkavishkis's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 32 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Vytis Kucys as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Gintas Kupcinskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 36 minutes, Gintas Kupcinskas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vygandas Čižas ran back to his position shaking his head. Vytis Kucys took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vygandas Čižas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Remigijus Palšis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Vytis Kucys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vaivoriai's Stasys Bielskis pulled a muscle in his back after 40 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Zigmantas Mikulenas's late challenge caught a Vaivoriai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zigmantas Mikulenas helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpected shot in the 44th minute by Marijus Mažeikis got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 46 minutes of play, Vaivoriai's Vygandas Čižas made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vytis Kucys was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gintas Kupcinskas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Vygandas Čižas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marijus Mažeikis in the 56th minute of play forced Vilkavishkis's goalkeeper Vytis Kucys to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vygandas Čižas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vytis Kucys having to interfere. Vytis Kucys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigijus Palšis, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. 69 minutes into the match, Vaivoriai's Vygandas Čižas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Vytis Kucys narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vytis Kucys made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marijus Mažeikis in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the match, Vilkavishkis's goal looked a bit too open when Remigijus Palšis came free, but Vytis Kucys reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Vygandas Čižas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th match minute, Vilkavishkis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zigmantas Mikulenas to maneuver through the defense. 82 minutes into the game, Aurimas Guzauskas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vilkavishkis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vaivoriai the free kick. Aurimas Guzauskas hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Remigijus Palšis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vaivoriai fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Vaivoriai's Marijus Mažeikis got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vygandas Čižas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Vytis Kucys tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vygandas Čižas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vytis Kucys having to make a save. If Vygandas Čižas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remigijus Palšis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vytis Kucys having to interfere. Vytis Kucys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Remigijus Palšis, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When the referee ended the match the Vaivoriai players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
