Romas Kimbartas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ugnius Kalasauskas in the 17th minute. 18 minutes into the match, Paystrys's goal looked a bit too open when Marius Gulbinas came free, but Karolis Kubickas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Kurkliu's goalkeeper Romas Kimbartas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eigirdas Petkus. The crowd rose to their feet as Paystrys's Martynas Deveikis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Romas Kimbartas. That made the score 1-1 after 21 minutes of play. Romas Kimbartas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martynas Deveikis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Karolis Kubickas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marijus Domkus, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Ugnius Kalasauskas's late challenge caught a Kurkliu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ugnius Kalasauskas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Kurkliu booed when Paystrys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Karolis Kubickas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ugnius Kalasauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Kurkliu's zone, Martynas Deveikis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Romas Kimbartas came out of the goal and Martynas Deveikis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marijus Domkus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Marijus Domkus mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kurkliu and the Paystrys players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st minute, Marijus Domkus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the match, Paystrys's goalkeeper Karolis Kubickas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vėjas Gaubšas. A collision led to Kurkliu getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Regimantas Babelis hit a great ball. In the 76th minute Martynas Deveikis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romas Kimbartas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Vėjas Gaubšas sped through Paystrys's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Karolis Kubickas. Marijus Domkus received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Karolis Kubickas came out and tried to block the shot, but Marijus Domkus slotted it home off the left post making it 2-4 in the 88th minute. The referee gave Paystrys a penalty, 93 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Martynas Deveikis, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Kurkliu's Romas Kimbartas. 3-4. During the 99th minute of the match Ugnius Kalasauskas completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Ugnius Kalasauskas a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Ugnius Kalasauskas hit a great freekick 100 minutes into the match.
