In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Paystrys's goalkeeper Karolis Kubickas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 20 minutes into the game, Paystrys's Martynas Deveikis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gražvydas Jakimavičius made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 29th minute, Domas Baltuška hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vertimai's Raimondas Liubinskas got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Emilis Danielius came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Vertimai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilis Danielius couldn't finish the play. Karolis Kubickas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raimondas Liubinskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paystrys's Karolis Kubickas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Paystrys from getting a goal against them. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Raimondas Liubinskas to make the kick off. Karolis Kubickas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimondas Liubinskas in the 53rd minute of the match. Ugnius Kalasauskas's late challenge caught a Vertimai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ugnius Kalasauskas helped the player get up and apologised. Ugnius Kalasauskas kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Aurelijus Baravykas took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Karolis Kubickas. Paystrys's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Paystrys's Martynas Deveikis got a free kick in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimondas Liubinskas in the 66th minute of play forced Paystrys's goalkeeper Karolis Kubickas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Emilis Danielius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Ugnius Kalasauskas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gražvydas Jakimavičius was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Rūtenis Alčauskis was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 81 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Raimondas Liubinskas made a precise shot to the right of Karolis Kubickas. Paystrys's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimondas Liubinskas in the 93rd minute of play forced Paystrys's goalkeeper Karolis Kubickas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Vertimai booed when Paystrys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ignas Tručinskas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute Raimondas Liubinskas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karolis Kubickas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
