The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Yousef Ratib struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. After having played for 14 minutes, Kamel Tawfiq managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chester-le-Street FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kamel Tawfiq was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Zafir Abdul Karim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kamel Tawfiq in the 19th minute of the match. With his leg Ilyas Fakhro managed to avoid a goal in the 21stth minute, when Ilford City's Yazid Al Tayyib fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Kamel Tawfiq received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Zafir Abdul Karim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Salim Abdul Baqi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zafir Abdul Karim having to interfere. In the 33rd minute of the match Hamdi Ratib sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ilyas Fakhro skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Kamel Tawfiq managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zafir Abdul Karim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Ilford City players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Chester-le-Street FC were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Esam Aban to make the kick off. The supporters of Ilford City booed when Chester-le-Street FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isa Yasem didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kamel Tawfiq recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 58th match minute, Ilford City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Saer Kameel to maneuver through the defense. In the 61stth minute of the game Salim Abdul Baqi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ilford City's Zafir Abdul Karim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Salim Abdul Baqi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Salim Abdul Baqi sped through Ilford City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Zafir Abdul Karim. Kamel Tawfiq could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Zafir Abdul Karim made a huge save. Salim Abdul Baqi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zafir Abdul Karim came out and tried to block the shot, but Salim Abdul Baqi slotted it home off the left post making it 0-4 in the 77th minute. Salim Abdul Baqi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. A very good chance. 97 minutes into the match, Chester-le-Street FC's Kamel Tawfiq sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Zafir Abdul Karim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the final whistle sounded Chester-le-Street FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ilford City.
