William Ogots short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Dennis Riri to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Imathiu in the 19th minute of play forced tusker fc's goalkeeper Dennis Riri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victor Imathiu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennis Riri having to make a save. After a rather tough play, tusker fc's Sammy Waheto got a free kick in the 25th minute. Dennis Riri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Imathiu in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of tusker fc booed when Hextable was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dan Otieno didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After having played for 51 minutes, William Ogot managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
