In the 3rd minute Billy Waheto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Ogot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When William Wanjohi fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sofapaka Football Club's protests and gave William Wanjohi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th match minute, Sofapaka Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by William Wanjohi to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute Billy Waheto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Ogot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henry Murunga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cyrus Musyoka in the 17th minute of play. Kevin Ogot was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Billy Waheto showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Githinji Akoth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Sofapaka Football Club's Billy Waheto in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After some careless play in the Sofapaka Football Club defense, Githinji Akoth kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henry Murunga. The Sofapaka Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henry Murunga should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Sofapaka Football Club's Wilson Chuma Khayeshe got a free kick in the 45th minute. Sofapaka Football Club's Henry Murunga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cyrus Musyoka in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Billy Waheto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Popârcea in the 56th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kevin Ogot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Wilson Lagat's late challenge caught a Sofapaka Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilson Lagat helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Sofapaka Football Club booed when Crewe United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wilson Lagat didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 58 played minutes Sofapaka Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Richard Kosgei. In the 60th minute, Githinji Akoth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Felix Popârcea in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kevin Ogot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 64th minute, Amos Kipwabok Leakey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Sofapaka Football Club's zone, Cyrus Musyoka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henry Murunga came out of the goal and Cyrus Musyoka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th minute, Philip Ntalami got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felix Popârcea scored 3-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kevin Ogot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henry Murunga made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Githinji Akoth sent off a good shot on target. If Philip Ntalami had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kevin Ogot didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Philip Ntalami went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Sofapaka Football Club's Bobby Nduro got a free kick in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Philip Ntalami ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kevin Ogot was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. In the 90th minute, Felix Popârcea left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sofapaka Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Kevin Ogot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Popârcea in the 95th minute of play. The supporters of Sofapaka Football Club booed when Crewe United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ismael Kanana didn't get a good kick on the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sofapaka Football Club fully deserved thier win.
