Seating: 1954, VIP seats: 169) Saltash City's George Ngugi started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Henry Kiprop Kirui's late challenge caught a Saltash City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Kiprop Kirui helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Saltash City booed when Liverpool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henry Kiprop Kirui didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Yobes Kipruto from long distance, 4 minutes into the match, got Samson Kobia's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. John Lagat struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Joseph Rop didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Liverpool. In the 17th minute, John Lagat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. If John Bilali had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Bilali scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joseph Rop, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 38th minute John Bilali shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joseph Rop saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 38 played minutes Saltash City got a freekick which was hit by Munyoro Kogo. Saltash City's Joseph Rop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by John Lagat in the 39th minute of play. After 41st play minutes John Lagat shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Joseph Rop and just under the crossbar into goal. John Bilali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for John Bilali to strike the kick off in the second half. Wangari Shikanda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joseph Rop was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but John Bilali showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-4 in the 59 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Bilali in the 65th minute of play forced Saltash City's goalkeeper Joseph Rop to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, John Bilali reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Joseph Rop. The goal made the score 0-6. The audience thought a goal was coming when John Lagat got free with Joseph Rop in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When John Lagat came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Liverpool fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Lagat couldn't finish the play. In the 83rd minute, Munyoro Kogo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When John Lagat came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Liverpool fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Lagat couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute, John Bilali got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Liverpool booed when Saltash City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jehovah Cheruiyot didn't get a good kick on the ball. John Bilali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Joseph Rop tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
