Gideon Onsare didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sofapaka Football Club. 3 minutes into the game, Kenneth Gathoni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Axbridge's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sofapaka Football Club the free kick. After 4 played minutes Axbridge got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Gathoni. Stephen Saleh Nabhan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Henry Murunga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 12th minute Axbridge were awarded a corner. Daniel Adhiambo went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 15th minute, Felix Popârcea got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute Felix Popârcea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gideon Onsare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Popârcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gideon Onsare having to interfere. Gideon Onsare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Waheto in the 24th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Billy Waheto in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gideon Onsare saved Axbridge from getting behind. A collision led to Axbridge getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Kenneth Gathoni hit a great ball. Gideon Onsare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felix Popârcea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37thth minute of the game Felix Popârcea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Axbridge's Gideon Onsare was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the game, Felix Popârcea cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gideon Onsare was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 46th minute, Kenneth Gathoni made a precise shot to the right of Henry Murunga. Sofapaka Football Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

The wind increased when Christopher Chepkemei made the kick off in the second half. Stephen Saleh Nabhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henry Murunga having to interfere. Axbridge's Gideon Onsare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billy Waheto in the 56th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Axbridge's zone, Billy Waheto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gideon Onsare came out of the goal and Billy Waheto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Sofapaka Football Club booed when Axbridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kenneth Gathoni didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gideon Onsare made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Felix Popârcea sent off a good shot on target. After 61 minutes, Felix Popârcea made it 2-2 with a short kick to the right side. Axbridge's Gideon Onsare tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Felix Popârcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gideon Onsare having to interfere. Gideon Onsare made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Felix Popârcea sent off a good shot on target. Billy Waheto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gideon Onsare having to make a save. After 86th play minutes Philip Ntalami shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Gideon Onsare and just under the crossbar into goal. Felix Popârcea struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Gideon Onsare didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sofapaka Football Club. Gideon Onsare was out of position in the 96 minute of play, and Philip Ntalami capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Philip Ntalami really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. Sofapaka Football Club's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
