Gideon Onsare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hassan Obala, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Conen Stars FC's zone, Christopher Chepkemei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felix Imathiu came out of the goal and Christopher Chepkemei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Musimbi Konga's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 18thth minute, Gideon Onsare skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gideon Onsare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hassan Obala, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Ezekiel Kipchoge charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ezekiel Kipchoge the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Axbridge's Daniel Adhiambo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Conen Stars FC. When Hassan Obala came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Conen Stars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hassan Obala couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Conen Stars FC getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Antony Rotich hit a great ball. Hassan Obala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gideon Onsare having to interfere. Amos Kipwabok Njenga kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After the first half Axbridge were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hassan Obala to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Musimbi Konga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gideon Onsare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 played minutes Conen Stars FC got a freekick which was hit by John Wanjiru. Conen Stars FC's Felix Imathiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Conen Stars FC from getting a goal against them. Felix Imathiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Christopher Chepkemei in the 68th minute of play. Gideon Onsare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amos Kipwabok Njenga, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. If Musimbi Konga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Conen Stars FC's Hassan Obala, in the 77th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Conen Stars FC. Musa Limo kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, Axbridge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Yusuf Koech to maneuver through the defense. After 85 played minutes Axbridge got a freekick which was hit by Kenneth Gathoni. In the 86th minute of the match Amos Kipwabok Njenga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gideon Onsare skillfully saved the ball. Christopher Chepkemei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Stephen Saleh Nabhan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Imathiu having to interfere. Gideon Onsare didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Musimbi Konga went, in the 95th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
