Josiah Mwangi Kanana didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jonathan Otieno went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 26 minutes into the game, Harilal Mutheu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Clay Cross's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave aterbu fc the free kick. Harilal Mutheu kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 27th minute, William Mosop sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Clay Cross's Josiah Mwangi Kanana didn't even have to move. Jonathan Otieno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Josiah Mwangi Kanana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sudha Nabwire in the 32nd minute of play forced Clay Cross's goalkeeper Josiah Mwangi Kanana to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Paul Wangila hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Mosop took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Josiah Mwangi Kanana. Clay Cross's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Faiz-Kevin Muhoho to strike the kick off in the second half. If Sudha Nabwire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clay Cross's Josiah Mwangi Kanana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Otieno in the 54th minute of play. aterbu fc's Jonathan Otieno got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Josiah Mwangi Kanana was out of position in the 61 minute of play, and Jonathan Otieno capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jonathan Otieno really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. When Jonathan Otieno came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the aterbu fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Otieno couldn't finish the play. When Joseph Leakey fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clay Cross's protests and gave Joseph Leakey a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Joseph Leakey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Otieno blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Josiah Mwangi Kanana having to make a save. Josiah Mwangi Kanana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonathan Otieno, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 74 minutes into the match, Clay Cross's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Otieno came free, but Josiah Mwangi Kanana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Clay Cross's zone, Martin Bommet stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Josiah Mwangi Kanana came out of the goal and Martin Bommet tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faiz-Kevin Muhoho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Sudha Nabwire hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The aterbu fc supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing aterbu fc would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
