In the 8th minute, Josephat Kigotho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ondoro Muchoki was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. When Daniel Dawkins fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Surbiton AFC's protests and gave Daniel Dawkins a yellow card for diving instead. Daniel Dawkins kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Michael Riri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joe Akinyi in the 14th minute of play. When Njeri Nyamau came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Redcar AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Njeri Nyamau couldn't finish the play. Michael Riri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joe Akinyi in the 20th minute of the match. Michael Riri made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Njeri Nyamau sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Redcar AFC's Joe Akinyi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Michael Riri. That made the score 1-1 after 24 minutes of play. Josephat Kigotho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ondoro Muchoki read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Ondoro Muchoki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jawahir Oduor, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a little luck, Surbiton AFC's Michael Riri got control of the ball when Njeri Nyamau tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joe Akinyi was the one to do the kick off. Njeri Nyamau struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Michael Riri didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Redcar AFC. Redcar AFC's Joe Akinyi got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Jawahir Oduor got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Njeri Nyamau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Surbiton AFC's Michael Riri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joe Akinyi in the 72nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jawahir Oduor got free with Ondoro Muchoki in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jawahir Oduor recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jawahir Oduor charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jawahir Oduor the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Redcar AFC's Joe Akinyi in the 93rd minute got a chance for a shot 93rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Surbiton AFC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Josephat Kigotho in the 96th minute of play forced Redcar AFC's goalkeeper Ondoro Muchoki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
