In the 13th minute, Patrick Chemjor left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The sofapaka fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Peter Chepchumba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When George Owino fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RICHARD's protests and gave George Owino a yellow card for diving instead. George Owino hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute Jonah Maina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Oloo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waruhiu Sitienei charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Waruhiu Sitienei the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in sofapaka fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 27th minute. Penalty! Wilson Rono fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oginga Birir having to interfere. Oginga Birir showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Titus Wangeci in the 33rd minute of the match. In the 35th minute, Patrick Chemjor ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. John Oloo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Patrick Chemjor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Oloo having to interfere. Julius Ocholla was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 41 minutes into the match. Julius Ocholla kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of sofapaka booed when RICHARD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peter Chepchumba didn't get a good kick on the ball.

David Pinches sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 53 minutes, Patrick Chemjor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. sofapaka's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patrick Chemjor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oginga Birir showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilson Rono, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Kevin Nduro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Oloo having to interfere. In the 60th minute, Japhet Leakey left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The goalkeeper, John Oloo, was totally fooled by sofapaka's Patrick Chemjor, who 73 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Michael Ngigi fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored RICHARD's protests and gave Michael Ngigi a yellow card for diving instead. RICHARD's John Oloo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Pinches in the 78th minute of play. If Patrick Chemjor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Oloo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Chemjor in the 83rd minute of play. Jonah Maina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. John Oloo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kevin Nduro's late challenge caught a RICHARD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kevin Nduro helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Jonah Maina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. sofapaka's Patrick Chemjor got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Patrick Chemjor in the 98th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck John Oloo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the final whistle sounded sofapaka left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than RICHARD.
