Moses Syombua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Henry Maathai was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Antônio Quaresma capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Antônio Quaresma really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. David Imathiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Trifon Haydushki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Africa United FC booed when Plumpton Green FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kimutai Osyanju didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Moses Syombua notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Plumpton Green FC's Henry Maathai. Henry Maathai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Bonaventure Damji Pattni sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 played minutes Plumpton Green FC got a freekick which was hit by Richard Hassan. Antônio Quaresma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Henry Maathai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 32 minutes, Antônio Quaresma managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Africa United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antônio Quaresma was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Antônio Quaresma in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Henry Maathai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Quaresma in the 35th minute of play forced Plumpton Green FC's goalkeeper Henry Maathai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elijah Odeke charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Elijah Odeke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 37 played minutes Plumpton Green FC got a freekick which was hit by Elijah Odeke. After having played for 38 minutes, Bonaventure Damji Pattni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Africa United FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonaventure Damji Pattni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Antônio Quaresma got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Curtis Kemboi took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Trifon Haydushki. Trifon Haydushki dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Plumpton Green FC's Curtis Kemboi got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wilson Zimbo hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Curtis Kemboi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Trifon Haydushki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Imathiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bonaventure Damji Pattni took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Henry Maathai. Henry Maathai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 61 minutes into the match, Moses Syombua had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henry Maathai. Plumpton Green FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Moses Syombua was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. 65 minutes into the game, Antônio Quaresma cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Henry Maathai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After taking down the ball on Plumpton Green FC's corner Bonaventure Amanaka fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Trifon Haydushki quite easily take care of the ball. Henry Maathai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moses Syombua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes into the match, Africa United FC's goalkeeper Trifon Haydushki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Imathiu. 78 minutes into the match, Plumpton Green FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Quaresma came free, but Henry Maathai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Maathai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio Quaresma in the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute Antônio Quaresma shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Maathai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 played minutes Plumpton Green FC got a freekick which was hit by Kipchoge Kirui. Africa United FC made a substitution. Duncan Akida replaced Moses Syombua. A collision led to Plumpton Green FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Kipchoge Kirui hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Africa United FC's Duncan Akida got a free kick in the 90th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Curtis Kemboi in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trifon Haydushki saved Africa United FC from getting behind. There was no doubt that Africa United FC were the better team. Africa United FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
