Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Duncan Bungei started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After a defensive mix-up in Romaldkirk's zone, James Anush stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paul Mwangi came out of the goal and James Anush tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 6 minutes, Philip Kimely Muhoho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shaldon AFC and the Romaldkirk players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Romaldkirk booed when Shaldon AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Philip Kimely Muhoho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Ochichi made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Joseph Salim Swedan sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Joseph Salim Swedan got free with Thomas Ochichi in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Shaldon AFC's Thomas Ochichi got control of the ball when Joseph Salim Swedan tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that James Anush's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paul Mwangi was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harilal Lagat in the 15th minute of play forced Shaldon AFC's goalkeeper Thomas Ochichi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Francis Komen kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute of the match Charles Waheto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paul Mwangi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Harilal Lagat fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Ochichi having to interfere. Stephen Lel's late challenge caught a Romaldkirk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stephen Lel helped the player get up and apologised. Stephen Lel kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the game, Romaldkirk's Joseph Salim Swedan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thomas Ochichi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 43 minutes into the match, Shaldon AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Harilal Lagat came free, but Thomas Ochichi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duncan Bungei recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Harilal Lagat made the kick off in the second half. Harilal Lagat received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Thomas Ochichi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joseph Salim Swedan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Shaldon AFC booed when Romaldkirk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francis Komen didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Duncan Bungei managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shaldon AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Duncan Bungei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paul Mwangi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Shaldon AFC's Stephen Lel suffered a sore thigh after 63 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 63 minutes, Francis Komen mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romaldkirk and the Shaldon AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Romaldkirk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Francis Komen to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Charles Waheto in the 65th minute really tested Paul Mwangi's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Romaldkirk's Joseph Salim Swedan got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Joseph Salim Swedan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Ochichi read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Joseph Salim Swedan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joseph Salim Swedan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 85th minute, Duncan Bungei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience cheered when Francis Kogo's long shot passed Thomas Ochichi's right side. It was 2-0, 85 minutes into the match. Francis Kogo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 92nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Thomas Ochichi. Shaldon AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Romaldkirk's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
