Controller Uche took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedan Kariuki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Strong Warriors Fc.'s Controller Uche got control of the ball when Stephen Koech tried to sneak it across the goal line. The long shot by Paul Nabwire in the 37th minute really tested Controller Uche's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 40th minute of the match, Dedan Kariuki tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Controller Uche saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mohinda Githongo made a kick off. Mohinda Githongo charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mohinda Githongo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Controller Uche made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephen Koech in the 56th minute of play. Kassim Ngeny kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. In the 80th match minute, Widnes United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julius Wambui to maneuver through the defense.
