Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Dan Okayo took the kick off in the first half of the match. When John Kariuki fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strood United's protests and gave John Kariuki a yellow card for diving instead. John Kariuki kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Douglas Boit was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dan Okayo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 4 minute of play. In the 8th minute, Edward Owino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strood United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. 11 minutes into the game, Wangui Eduu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Penzance's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Strood United the free kick. A collision led to Penzance getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Wangui Eduu hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Penzance's Dan Okayo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Douglas Boit. Douglas Boit yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dan Okayo in the 28th minute of play forced Strood United's goalkeeper Douglas Boit to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29thth minute of the game Edward Owino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Penzance's Joseph Sang was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 31st minute, Wangui Eduu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Penzance's Wangui Eduu got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Faiz-Kevin Koskei fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Strood United's protests and gave Faiz-Kevin Koskei a yellow card for diving instead. In the 35th minute, one of Strood United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Strood United. Dan Okayo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edward Owino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes into the match, Penzance's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Owino came free, but Joseph Sang reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wangui Eduu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas Boit having to interfere. In the 64thth minute of the game Dan Okayo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Strood United's Douglas Boit was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Strood United's zone, Wangui Eduu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas Boit came out of the goal and Wangui Eduu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wangui Eduu in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Boit saved Strood United from getting behind. In the 71st minute Wangui Eduu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Douglas Boit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 72nd minute, Kagai Mosop hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kagai Mosop hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wangui Eduu in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Boit saved Strood United from getting behind. The Penzance fans' excitement grew in the 77th match minute when Penzance's Dan Okayo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a defensive mix-up in Penzance's zone, Peter Wanjohi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joseph Sang came out of the goal and Peter Wanjohi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joseph Sang made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peter Wanjohi in the 83rd minute. In the 86th minute, Peter Kosgei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Douglas Boit made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dan Okayo in the 90th minute of play. The supporters of Penzance booed when Strood United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faiz-Kevin Koskei didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Penzance's Lepirei Lukoye in action when he in the 93rd minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Wangui Eduu struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Douglas Boit didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Penzance. Douglas Boit showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dan Okayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
