Malcolm Murunga started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. David Kagai Java showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joseph Muhoho in the 3rd minute of the match. A collision led to FC Jasolohna getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Zablon Kosgei hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the match, Joseph Muhoho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of David Kagai Java. FC Jasolohna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joseph Muhoho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 12 minutes into the match, FC Jasolohna's goal looked a bit too open when Joseph Muhoho came free, but David Kagai Java reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute, Joseph Muhoho made a precise shot to the right of David Kagai Java. FC Jasolohna's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 24th minute, Joseph Muhoho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Kagai Java was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 28 minutes into the match, FC Jasolohna's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin Kimutai Rop came free, but David Kagai Java reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the FC Jasolohna defense, Benjamin Kimutai Rop kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of David Kagai Java. The FC Jasolohna fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that David Kagai Java should have stopped the shot. In the 40th minute, Joseph Muhoho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The St Ives FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-6. FC Jasolohna's David Kagai Java played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Kimutai Rop in the 48th minute of play. The FC Jasolohna players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. St Ives FC were winning 0-6.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benjamin Kimutai Rop to make the kick off. David Kagai Java showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Atieno, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. David Kagai Java was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Benjamin Kimutai Rop showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-7 in the 54 minute of play. In the 58th match minute, FC Jasolohna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvano Mwaura to maneuver through the defense. George Munji took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mahmoud Kipsang. Mahmoud Kipsang dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. In the 64th minute, Joseph Muhoho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th match minute, FC Jasolohna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zablon Kosgei to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to FC Jasolohna getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Silvano Mwaura hit a great ball. In the 78th minute of the match, Benjamin Kimutai Rop tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but David Kagai Java saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joseph Muhoho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Kagai Java having to interfere. David Kagai Java made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Sammy Waithaka sent off a good shot on target. When George Munji came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the FC Jasolohna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Munji couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Kimutai Rop got free with David Kagai Java in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of FC Jasolohna booed when St Ives FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joseph Muhoho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malcolm Murunga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mahmoud Kipsang having to interfere. The FC Jasolohna fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. St Ives FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
