Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kipchoge Wambua started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, David Ereng had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of John Origi. Whitton's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Ereng was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. John Origi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sudha Kitur, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 9 played minutes Poulton-Le-Fylde got a freekick which was hit by Samson Ndereba. In the 12th minute Fredrick Israel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Murunga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Poulton-Le-Fylde's Richard Murunga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kipchoge Wambua in the 14th minute of play. Myles Ongao sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 23 played minutes Whitton got a freekick which was hit by Naftali Ogot. The crowd rose to their feet as Poulton-Le-Fylde's David Ereng slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of John Origi. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. David Ereng who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of John Origi when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sudha Kitur fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Origi having to interfere. David Ereng could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 33rd minute of the match, but John Origi made a huge save. In the 36th minute of the match, Sudha Kitur tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but John Origi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Whitton getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Douglas Waroo hit a great ball. 38 minutes into the match, Whitton's goalkeeper John Origi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by David Ereng. John Origi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mwai Emilio Stanley Koskei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sudha Kitur sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Sudha Kitur made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Poulton-Le-Fylde's Sudha Kitur fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Poulton-Le-Fylde's Sudha Kitur pulled a muscle in his back after 54 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Poulton-Le-Fylde's Peter Moi was substituted for Sudha Kitur. In the 55th match minute, Whitton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lucas Kosgei to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute Kipchoge Wambua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Richard Murunga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Moi in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Origi saved Whitton from getting behind. Naftali Ogot's late challenge caught a Poulton-Le-Fylde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Naftali Ogot helped the player get up and apologised. Naftali Ogot kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the game, one of Whitton:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. John Alfie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Naftali Ogot kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. John Origi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peter Moi in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, Poulton-Le-Fylde's David Ereng nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. John Origi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. If John Alfie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. John Alfie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Origi having to interfere. In the 86thth minute of the game John Alfie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Whitton's John Origi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 87 minutes into the game, Kipchoge Wambua recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Richard Murunga. Kipchoge Wambua showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-1. Evans Uche's late challenge caught a Poulton-Le-Fylde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Evans Uche helped the player get up and apologised. 92 minutes into the game, one of Whitton:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 95th minute there was a penalty for Poulton-Le-Fylde. David Ereng stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving John Origi. 5-1. David Ereng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Poulton-Le-Fylde were the better team. Poulton-Le-Fylde's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
