The wind increased when Benjamin Kimutai Rop made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Poulton-Le-Fylde's John Alfie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mahmoud Kipsang narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Ereng got free with Mahmoud Kipsang in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mahmoud Kipsang made an important save on a dangerous shot by David Ereng in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute Sudha Kitur shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahmoud Kipsang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 81st minute, David Ereng left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. St Ives FC's Mahmoud Kipsang proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save St Ives FC from getting a goal against them. David Ereng showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-10. The St Ives FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Poulton-Le-Fylde's performance. The match ended with a win for Poulton-Le-Fylde.
