Samuel Keino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephen Ouko in the 3rd minute of the match. When Clitheroe's Mohammed Odeke in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stocksbridge's goalie prevented a goal. 7 minutes into the match, Stephen Ouko had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Samuel Keino. Stocksbridge's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Stephen Ouko was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When Ngũgĩ wa Nyamau fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Clitheroe's protests and gave Ngũgĩ wa Nyamau a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Stocksbridge booed when Clitheroe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ngũgĩ wa Nyamau didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thomas Muchoki fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Mudavadi having to interfere. Samuel Keino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mohammed Odeke's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Stocksbridge's goalkeeper Samuel Keino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stephen Ouko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuel Keino having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Stocksbridge's zone, Mohammed Odeke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Samuel Keino came out of the goal and Mohammed Odeke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 42 minutes, Mohammed Odeke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clitheroe and the Stocksbridge players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel Keino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stephen Ouko in the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Stephen Ouko made a kick off. Samuel Keino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stephen Ouko in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55th minute Vincent Mutheu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Mudavadi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 61st match minute, Clitheroe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Ondieki to maneuver through the defense. Stocksbridge's Duncan Birir couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clitheroe. Charles Ondieki charged in rather forcefully in the 76th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charles Ondieki the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, Felix Cheruiyot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Clitheroe's Stephen Ouko in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Stocksbridge's goalie prevented a goal. Mohammed Odeke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 85 played minutes Stocksbridge got a freekick which was hit by Mo ibn Abi Bakr. Mohammed Odeke took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Keino. Samuel Keino dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Wilson Kipsang took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 91st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Samuel Keino. Stocksbridge's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Mohammed Odeke notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Stocksbridge's Samuel Keino. Samuel Keino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Clitheroe supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Clitheroe would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
