Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Benjamin Kimutai Rop started the match with the kick off. Ben Atieno recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sammy Waithaka might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Billy Waruinge. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sammy Waithaka ran back to his position shaking his head. Benjamin Kimutai Rop fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Billy Waruinge having to interfere. If Sammy Waithaka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ismael Oloo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Reuben Kimeu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When St Ives FC's Benjamin Kimutai Rop in the 28th minute got a chance for a shot 28th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bournemouth's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of St Ives FC booed when Bournemouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. St Ives FC's Mahmoud Kipsang played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ismael Oloo in the 32nd minute of play. If Ben Atieno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute Ismael Oloo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahmoud Kipsang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Samuel Ngoka's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mahmoud Kipsang read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Bournemouth's Francis Rotich slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Mahmoud Kipsang. That made the score 1-0 after 42 minutes of play. Billy Waruinge showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ben Atieno, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ismael Oloo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mahmoud Kipsang took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paul Ndereba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mahmoud Kipsang came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Bournemouth's Samuel Ngoka. But to his dismay, Samuel Ngoka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 61st minute Titus Matiba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mahmoud Kipsang saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to St Ives FC getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Joseph Muhoho hit a great ball. The supporters of St Ives FC booed when Bournemouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francis Muhoho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Bournemouth's zone, Joseph Muhoho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Billy Waruinge came out of the goal and Joseph Muhoho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benjamin Kimutai Rop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Billy Waruinge tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Bournemouth support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
