Josephat Githongo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Douglas Waroo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. When Curtis Mwaura came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Nairobi Soccer Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Curtis Mwaura couldn't finish the play. John Lagat kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Curtis Mwaura recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. A collision led to Whitton getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Fredrick Israel hit a great ball. Eliud Ereng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. John Origi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Malcolm Manyim was the one to do the kick off. Curtis Mwaura struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. John Origi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nairobi Soccer Stars. Naftali Ogot hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 58 minutes of play, Nairobi Soccer Stars's Malcolm Manyim made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John Origi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 63 played minutes Nairobi Soccer Stars got a freekick which was hit by Eliud Ereng. In the 65th minute, Fredrick Israel left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Whitton fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 74th minute Curtis Mwaura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Origi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 74 minutes into the game, Curtis Mwaura lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated John Origi. 2-3 became the score in the 80th minute when Curtis Mwaura elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Stephen Rop hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Douglas Waroo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Curtis Mwaura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Nairobi Soccer Stars getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Stephen Rop hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredrick Israel in the 94th minute of play forced Nairobi Soccer Stars's goalkeeper Josephat Githongo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Nairobi Soccer Stars left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Whitton.
