To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Stocksbridge's Felix Cheruiyot got a free kick in the 45th minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sudha Kitur stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Christopher Wangeci recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Poulton-Le-Fylde's Sudha Kitur got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Mo ibn Abi Bakr's late challenge caught a Poulton-Le-Fylde's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mo ibn Abi Bakr helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Poulton-Le-Fylde booed when Stocksbridge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mo ibn Abi Bakr didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Stocksbridge's Samuel Keino got control of the ball when David Ereng tried to sneak it across the goal line. The ball had pretty good speed, but Samuel Keino firmly grabbed it by the left post. Christopher Wangeci hit a great ball. Poulton-Le-Fylde's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sudha Kitur in the 92nd minute. After having played for 96 minutes, David Ereng managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Poulton-Le-Fylde's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Ereng was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Poulton-Le-Fylde's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
