Bayswater
Spectators: 9243 (Terracing: 6933,
Seating: 2126, VIP seats: 184) Bayswater's George Wanjiru started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Moses Rubia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurice Masai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of George Wanjiru's shot from short distance in the 6th minute. The supporters of Bayswater booed when Accrington was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gideon Otunga didn't get a good kick on the ball. When George Wanjiru came up free with the goalie in the 13th minute, the Bayswater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Wanjiru couldn't finish the play. 17 minutes into the match, John Ocholla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jeruto Muttendago. Bayswater's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that John Ocholla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Gideon Otunga struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Jeruto Muttendago didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Accrington. A collision led to Accrington getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. John Ocholla hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mike Waweru in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Maurice Masai prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 25 minutes into the game, Gideon Otunga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Accrington's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bayswater the free kick. Maurice Masai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Wanjiru in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Wanjiru in the 30th minute of play forced Accrington's goalkeeper Maurice Masai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 31st minute, Bayswater's George Wanjiru dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. George Wanjiru received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Maurice Masai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Bayswater's George Wanjiru in the 37th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Maurice Masai was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Accrington through an amazing save. George Wanjiru succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 37th playminute. When Mike Waweru came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Bayswater fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mike Waweru couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Accrington's zone, Mike Waweru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maurice Masai came out of the goal and Mike Waweru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moses Rubia was the one to do the kick off. Evans Denno kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. 54 minutes into the game, Evans Denno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bayswater's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Accrington the free kick. The supporters of Accrington booed when Bayswater was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evans Denno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Accrington's Maurice Masai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Wanjiru in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th match minute, Accrington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gideon Otunga to maneuver through the defense. 60 minutes into the match, Accrington's goal looked a bit too open when Mike Waweru came free, but Maurice Masai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Waweru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Michael Osoro made in the 64th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by John Ocholla. Maurice Masai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Wanjiru in the 77th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Mike Waweru notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Accrington's Maurice Masai. Maurice Masai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. George Wanjiru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Evans Denno struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Maurice Masai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bayswater. After 91 minutes Accrington's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Deepak Lukoye who took care of the corner kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Accrington's goalie and right to Mike Waweru. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Accrington's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Maurice Masai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Wanjiru in the 93rd minute of play. There was no doubt that Bayswater were the better team. Bayswater's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
