Accrington's Maurice Masai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thomas Leakey in the 43rd minute of play. William Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurice Masai having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moses Rubia to make the kick off. Moses Ogot sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Kimutai Mwaura could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Maurice Masai made a huge save. If Thomas Leakey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Accrington's Paul Biwott got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Moses Ogot dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Maurice Masai, 0-7. Kimutai Mwaura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 95th minute, Kimutai Mwaura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liverpool KN fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-9.
