Charles Ogot was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peter Temu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Charles Ogot prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Samson Kiptanuis short, quick shot in the 43rdth minute got Charles Ogot to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Musa Munji managed to get in a good position for a shot. Botswana Meat Commission's supporters rose to their feet, but Musa Munji was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Charles Ogot breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The attack was good, but when Samson Kiptanui in the 46th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. If Daniel Koech had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Charles Ogot made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Charles Ogot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samson Kiptanui, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The audience was convinced that Samson Kiptanui's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Charles Ogot was relentless in the 85th minute of the game.
