Nashon Nekesa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adah Keter in the 26th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adah Keter in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nashon Nekesa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nashon Nekesa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adah Keter, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Adah Keter might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nashon Nekesa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Adah Keter ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Brighton's goal looked a bit too open when Adah Keter came free, but Nashon Nekesa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Hurst Green fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Hurst Green's Adah Keter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Hurst Green's McDonald Leakey in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After the first half Hurst Green were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hassan Waroo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Brighton's zone, Martin Chege stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nashon Nekesa came out of the goal and Martin Chege tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Adah Keter managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hurst Green's supporters rose to their feet, but Adah Keter was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nashon Nekesa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adah Keter in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nashon Nekesa saved Brighton from getting behind. In the 63rd minute Adah Keter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nashon Nekesa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nashon Nekesa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adah Keter in the 64th minute. In the 65thth minute of the game Adah Keter who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Brighton's Nashon Nekesa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Nashon Nekesa managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Hurst Green's Adah Keter fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. A collision led to Brighton getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. James Chepkemei hit a great ball. After 82 minutes, McDonald Leakey made it 0-11 with a short kick to the right side. Brighton's Nashon Nekesa tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as McDonald Leakey kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nashon Nekesa. That made the score 0-12 in the 95 minute of play. Hurst Green's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
