But to his dismay, Dorival Sarmento quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in FC Hamunaptra's zone, Amos Chepchumba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eduardo Dorado came out of the goal and Amos Chepchumba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Richard Israel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ngethe Mutuku showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Nekesa, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After 47 played minutes FC Hamunaptra got a freekick which was hit by Dennis Komen. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Tony Githongo made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Restaurante Salento booed when FC Hamunaptra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolae Ceaușescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Daniel Ndereba kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After 85 played minutes Restaurante Salento got a freekick which was hit by Chuma Mwangi. Nicolae Ceaușescu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ngethe Mutuku firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the final whistle sounded FC Hamunaptra left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Restaurante Salento.
